Medical Transcriptionist

Description: We are looking for a Transcriptionist to translate audio recordings into written documents. In this position, you will receive recordings from our staff, listen to the audio, and create a coherent, written document. In many cases, you will need to expand on sentence fragments or audio notes to create something readable. You may also expand on shorthand written notes or transcribe live dialogue at staff meetings. Our ideal applicant either has significant experience or a certificate in transcription. You must also have excellent hearing and strong typing skills.

Requirements: Proven work experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or similar role
Ability to transcribe accurately and maintain a minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute
Experience with specialized transcription equipment and voice recognition software, including WebChartMD and PhraseExpander
In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and jargon, as well as editing practices
Keen attention to detail in order to not compromise patient care
Post-secondary training in medical transcription is preferred
