Description: Diagnose: Perform a preoperative diagnosis to determine the patients condition
Operate: Perform surgery to repair, remove, or replace damaged body parts
Care for patients: Provide care and treatment before, during, and after surgery
Lead the surgical team: Make decisions about the patients health and safety, and ensure the surgical team works together
Communicate with patients: Discuss the procedure with patients, and speak with them after surgery about their recovery
Qualifications
A bachelors degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field
A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
An active medical license
Certification from The American Board of Surgery
Surgical experience

Requirements: Degree in medicine (essential).
Certification through the American Board of Medical Specialties (essential).
5 years of residency training in General Surgery (essential).
Current state medical license (essential).
